Painting: My own universe inside my bathtub 117x120 cm / 46x48 in with AR

This piece is a tribute to the work of filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, an artist whose films have profoundly influenced me. Inspired by a scene from his movie "Átame!", where Victoria Abril sits in a bathtub and a small motorized diver appears between her legs, I wanted to capture that surreal and intimate moment. Though the iconic red heels are not part of that particular scene, they hold great significance throughout Almodóvar’s filmography, symbolizing passion and individuality—so I included them here as a nod to his broader visual language. The colorful mosaic tiles are another homage to the vibrant aesthetics in his films, especially the subtle yet powerful nods to Mexican culture.

This painting explores the quiet moments of deep intimacy we experience when alone in the bath, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. The augmented reality component brings the artwork to life, allowing the diver to swim across the bathtub, further intensifying the surreal, dreamlike atmosphere. Just as in my other work "Naked," this piece emphasizes the personal space we inhabit when we are most vulnerable, alone, and connected with ourselves.
